Rider Tips and Tricks

  • Check out our Rider Guide for tips on using Metro Transit!
  • Pay your fare with Umo, Metro’s contactless fare payment system, which works on all of Metro’s vehicles. It can be used at ticket vending machines, with a smart card, or with a mobile phone app.
    • Note: all riders will need their own account (this is because of our fare-capping program)
    • Note: any funds uploaded to Umo accounts are non-refundable
  • Riders can plan a trip and track their bus using MyRide OMA, Metro’s real-time tracking system, available online, as a mobile app, or via a text message system.

Bikes

Bikes are another great way to get you to and from the ballpark, a bus stop, or an ORBT Station. Metro buses have bike racks on the front of the bus, ORBT buses have bike hangers inside (use the back door), and your bike rides free! Racks can accommodate bikes, e-bikes, and Heartland Bike Share bikes under 55 pounds.

Heartland Bike Share will install a temporary station with a bike and scooter parking corral on Mike Fahey between 14th & 15th streets. When riding your personal bike to park in the corral, please bring your own bike lock and park at your own risk. If riding Heartland Bike Share and the dock station is full, make sure to find a nearby station with an available dock.

Check out our Bike + Ride page for tips and get ready to roll!

Scooters

There will be designated scooter parking on the corner of 14th & Mike Fahey. Lime scooters are not allowed on board any Metro vehicles or on bus bike racks. Please be considerate when parking a scooter at or near a bus stop, and make sure the stop is accessible.

Check out scooter guidelines from Park Omaha here!
