Lost & Found

While Metro is not responsible for lost or stolen items, the buses and vans are checked daily, and we will do our best to reunite items with their owners.

Metro only stores essential items in Lost & Found, including:

  • Keys
  • Wallets
  • Purses
  • Mobile phones
  • Laptops
  • School and library books
  • Eyeglasses
  • Bicycles

All found items that are not discarded immediately will be held at Metro for 30 days. Items that are not rightfully claimed within 30 days will be donated to charity or disposed of as Metro deems appropriate.

Pickup of lost items can be arranged by calling Customer Service at 402-341-0800.

Any claims for a bike left on buses or on other Metro premises (i.e. shelters, transit centers, administrative building, parking lots, etc.) should be made to Metro at its administrative offices: 2222 Cuming Street, Omaha, Nebraska, 68102-4392, or by calling 402-341-0800 or 402-342-0807 (TDD)

NOTE: Metro will not take a bus out of service for a cyclist to claim their bike or send a Metro employee to a bus to retrieve a bike. Metro may remove a bike left in a rack for a lengthy period of time during any period of transit service operation.
