Metro will provide fare-free transit on Tuesday, November 8th for the General Election with its Bus to Ballot program.

Anyone will be able to board a Metro bus, ORBT, or MOBY fare-free all day on Election Day.

“Not having access to transportation should never be a reason not to vote,” said Metro CEO Lauren Cencic. “We are proud to offer Bus to Ballot to make it easier for riders to participate in the democratic process.”

This marks the fifth time Metro has offered Bus to Ballot, having provided free rides for the elections in 2016, 2020, 2021, and earlier this year for the City of Omaha Primary Election.

Riders can plan their trip and track their bus using MyRide OMA, which is available online and as a smartphone app.

Other Election Day transportation opportunities in the Omaha metro area include:

  • Heartland Bike Share will offer free rides to help people vote as part of the Roll to the Polls initiative
  • Lyft is providing 50% off on rideshares
  • Lime has a promo code for a free scooter ride to and from the polls
