This April, Metro Transit will be bringing the final draft of its MetroNEXT plan to the public. The plan addresses ways to guide transit investments and priorities to 2030, including a list of projects.

MetroNEXT is Metro’s yearlong strategic planning and public engagement initiative to improve transit in the Omaha region. Over the last year, Metro has hosted 18 meetings for the public to gain feedback about a variety of aspects of transit.

“Input from the community has been key in developing our final list of projects for this draft MetroNEXT plan,” said Lauren Cencic, Metro’s CEO. “We’re excited to come back to the public with our draft guide for the future of transit in Omaha.”

Members of the public are invited to attend one of the public presentations hosted by Metro:

Saturday, April 9
12 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Metro Office

Wednesday, April 13
4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Metro Office

Each date will have two presentations during the time, with each beginning at the top of the hour. A virtual recording of the presentation will be available on Metro’s website or on its YouTube channel.

The draft plan and summary of public comments will be presented to the Metro Board of Directors, who will then vote on the adoption of the plan at its April Board meeting.
