Metro Transit’s Board of Directors voted Thursday to approve a series of service changes that includes a route realignment and more frequent service on several routes.

The biggest change will be to Route 30, which will realign to travel to the Aksarben Transit Center instead of its current route ending in downtown Omaha.

This realignment adds a route traveling along Saddle Creek and will connect those coming from the Florence and North Omaha communities to several new grocery stores, as well as many new schools, health resources, and more.

Beyond that, getting to Aksarben from the North Omaha Transit Center will be six minutes faster than it is currently on Route 18.

Riders will also benefit from buses coming more often on several different routes. Route 4 will arrive more often in the evening, buses on Route 11 will come more often on Sundays, and Route 13 will have buses arriving every 15-minutes during weekday peak times between North Downtown and the MCC South Transit Center.

These service increases and more will begin on Sunday, April 19th.
