An ORBT bus sits at the 62nd & Dodge station while people watch fireworks in the night sky

June 23, 2025

On Friday, June 27th, the City of Omaha is hosting Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band during this year’s Memorial Park Concert. When the last note fades, fireworks light the sky up and Dodge Street gets shut down.

Metro will be waiting and ready to help whisk concertgoers away.

Several buses will be waiting just down the street from Memorial Park at 62nd & Dodge and will head out as soon as Dodge opens back up.

This means people can park for free at the Westroads Transit Center or find parking along Dodge before the concert, hop on an ORBT, and enjoy the concert without trying to fight traffic or circling in search of parking.

ORBT is only $1.25 to board (free for kids K-12th grade), and a ride from Westroads to Memorial Park is less than 20 minutes.

After the fireworks end, concertgoers can head to the big orange buses standing by, riders can sit tight and our operators will get them back to Westroads, downtown, or anywhere in between in just a few minutes.

Riders can feel free to bring their concert gear with them too!

While Dodge is shut down, ORBT will be on detour off of Dodge between 52nd and 72nd. The stations at 62nd and 72nd will be closed at that time. ORBT will pick up riders at stops normally served by Route 18. Eastbound will pick up on 72nd near Petco. Westbound will pick up on 72nd near the Crossroads sign.

Riders should keep an eye on the MyRide news section for up-to-date information and alerts.
