Microtransit fares begin Wednesday, October 15th
October 14, 2025
Two months after a successful launch, Metro Transit’s microtransit pilot is set to begin charging fares at the start of service on Wednesday, October 15th.
The service provided more than 7,000 rides in the first 60 days post launch.
Rides are $3 per person in each direction. This includes a transfer to or from the regular fixed route bus. Transfers follow the same rules as on Metro buses. If a rider is transferring to or from microtransit to MOBY, it is $4.25 per trip including transfer.
Note: Riders using microtransit and MOBY must use Umo to get the discounted transfer fare.
Riders are able to request on-demand rides when they’re within one of the three zones microtransit serves in Omaha: North Zone, South Zone, and West Zone. A rider can go anywhere within the zone they request the ride in. If they want to get to another zone, they can connect to a bus route to finish the trip. The North Zone also includes three additional destinations to better connect riders: 33rd & Dodge ORBT station, Open Door Mission Campus, and Eppley Airfield. Detailed maps showing the zones and where Metro Transit’s routes interconnect can be found here.
Metro Transit’s pass programs, including K-12 Rides Free, university passes, and half-fare, do not apply to microtransit services.
Riders can book through the Metro Flex OMA app or through customer service at 402-341-0800.
There are several different ways for riders to pay, that can be found at MetroFlexOMA.com
