Fares & Passes

Metro Fares, ETC:

Exact cash fare is urged. Bus Operators are not allowed to make change or handle money. If a cash fare over payment is necessary, the farebox will issue a Value Card in the amount of cash overpayment.  The Value Card can be used as future fare credit, or can be combined with additional cash to make up the difference for the required fare.  Value Cards are not redeemable for cash and are valid for 90 days after issuance.  Reduced fares are available to students on schooldays until 6:00 PM.  Half fares are available for elderly, disabled, and Medicare card holders with appropriate reduced-fare ID cards all day, 7 days a week.  Prepaid 10 Ride Cards and 30 Consecutive Day unlimited passes are available for purchase at multiple locations throughout Omaha.  NOTE: Non-Express cards are subject to a 25¢ upcharge when used on an Express Route.

If you intend to use a Metro discount ID for students, or a half-fare photo ID for elderly, disabled, or Medicare, please have the ID ready to show the operator when you pay your fare.
